Most of us grew up watching TV shows like Zee Horror show and Aahat on Zee Tv and Sony. We’re literally too used to being disappointed in horror produced in the Indian entertainment industry. There are a few exceptions like Urmila Matondkar starer Bhoot and Raaz (only the first part though) but now we have a new benchmark. Starring Radhika Apte and jointly-produced by Jason Blum and Anurag Kashyap, the Netflix original – Ghoul, is the show that every horror lover must watch. Here are 10 reasons why Ghoul is exactly what Indian TV shows really needed.

1. Tackles Social Change and Religious Fanaticism

In the very first episode, the miniseries raises issues pertaining to sectarianism in a dystopia. The society is divided and ruled by a totalitarian regime which has no place for religion and religious propaganda. It is also suggested that the state has curbed all voices of dissent and resistance. This is something that has barely been touched by mainstream narratives in the Indian TV scene. Ghoul takes the social change to a completely different level by uniting people on the grounds of nationalism and it highlights the macabre nature of such a society.

2. Political undertones, suggestions and reactions

Ghoul depicts a dystopia ruled by a military regime and also shows the darkness that paints the political scenario. It suggests how the defenders of democracy end up becoming like the very same fanatics that they were rose up against. Characters like Colonel Dacunha (Manav Kaul) and Laxmi Das (Ratnabali Bhattacharjee)  are blinded by the regime’s propaganda and the power granted by their military ranks. Dacunha is a decorated soldier with an illustrious character, but as the narrative progresses we see the darker side his heroism. It also suggests that due to his past achievements he suffers from a hero-complex which is highlighted by the fact that he took pleasure in beating and raping his own wife as she does not consent to his sexual approaches. Nida Rahim’s (Radhika Apte) father is shown as a progressive individual with views that are subversive in the state’s eyes. He tries to teach the correct history and religious teachings to his students and is sent to prison for interrogation and rehabilitation, but instead, he is shot in the head for his dissenting voice and actions.

3. Dark, mystical, and subversive-urban setting

The mini-series opens with an army team raiding an abandoned shopping mall where terrorists have set up a base. They are informed that a certain high profile terrorist, Ali Saeed had taken refuge in the mall. The typically urban setting of the scene sets the tone of the show and the subversive nature of depicting a tormented member of the society who has fallen prey to religious fanaticism as a reactionary dissent against the totalitarian regime. The mystery set in immediately and it only gets darker as the plot moves ahead.

4. Powerful female archetype – Nida Rahman

We’ve barely had powerful female characters in the lead in Indian shows. Also, most Indian TV shows are full of sexist ideas and depiction, with female characters usually being depicted as vamps or damsels. Ghoul subverts the idea of weak female characters that have been prevalent in Indian TV shows. Nida Rahim is shown as a hardcore nationalist who has been indoctrinated with the state’s ideas and put into the military regime’s interrogation unit. Nida is depicted as a religious Muslim but she has no sympathy towards the Muslim terrorists in prison. The show highlights the empathy in her when she gives a blanket to one of the prisoners and how she protects another prisoner since as finds out about his innocence. Nida takes on her superiors and fights for what is right and does not follow orders blindly. She is definitely one of the most powerful characters, that we have ever seen in any Indian show.

5. Incorporating Islamic mythology into the core of the plot

A ghoul is a demon or monster originating in the pre-Islamic mythos and is depicted as a flesh-eating, shape-shifting entity. In Islamic mythology, a ghūl is portrayed as a fiend-like djinn, and Iblis is said to have dominion over them. The term has often been used for an undead monster which takes on the appearance of the last human that it consumes. The show builds upon the element of horror and the demonic character is derived from the mythical ghūl. We’ve never seen such a macabre representation of any demon or spirit in Bollywood productions in the past, as we see in Ghoul. Most of the horror films and shows fail because of their lack of mystery, inefficient makeup and grossly underwhelming action and acting. This is where Ghoul shines and outdoes every other mainstream Indian horror film/show.

6. Great visual representation, dramatic jump scares and VFX

Ghoul delivers exactly what the Indian horror scene needs; an uncanny and formidable fiend/ghost/spirit, powerful performances, perfect makeup and blood, unashamed gore and body horror. The show’s visual representation of a dark dystopia is simply perfect. Most of the action takes place in Meghdoot 31, a secret nuclear bunker turned prison to hold the most dangerous criminals. The underground bunker also acts as a metaphor for the society that is repressed and covered up by the totalitarian regime. The scenes in which the ghūl is shown are executed with utmost perfection and the makeup is on point. Its jump scares are few, but they are intensely effective; get ready for some bone-chilling scenes of gore and horror if you have not watched Ghoul yet.

7. Intense action, mystery and psychological horror

The secret facility where most of the action takes place has a macabre tone to it. It is an unsettling place with no windows or natural light it can only be accessed by a single door. Ghoul develops and intensifies the mystery surrounding the terrorist Ali Saeed, (Mahesh Balraj) as he is brought into Meghdoot 31 for interrogation. The flawless acting and expressions on the demonic spirit’s face are executed brilliantly and it might be really scary if you have a weak heart (you’ve been warned).

8. The degradation of human psychology in isolation

Isolation can turn a person completely insane and Ghoul shows exactly this. The army officials in the secret facility are portrayed as dark individuals who’s psychological conditions are shaped by their past actions. Being soldiers and interrogators, they have had a dark past because of their job. Some have killed innocent people, some are shown as power-hungry megalomaniacs with a hero-complex. The isolation brings out the darkness in them and intensifies the element of psychological horror.

9. Compelling cinematography and a very slick sound design

Most of the action in the show takes place in the secret underground facility, that is mostly dark. Even the other scenes in which characters are introduced take place in the night. The very first scene is set in the wee hours of the night in an abandoned mall with no electricity. The camera-work is commendable and the cinematography is brilliant. Ghoul delivers intense gore, that is paralleled with an amazing sound design, great makeup and amazing acting. Some of the scenes are executed with awesome close-ups and honest representation of blood and damage to the physical bodies. In short, Ghoul is an amazing show with great production value.

10. THE QUEEN – Radhika Apte

Do we really need to tell you why?

Ghoul is a gripping tale with great set and sound designs, strong characters and compelling performances, political thriller and psychological horror. The show is exactly what the Indian horror scene needed. I feel it is the new benchmark for future productions. What do you think? Let’s discuss the show and its awesomeness in the comments below.

PS: Happy Birthday Radhika!

There is so much to watch in the world right now, especially since the arrival of streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime. Countless posts and memes based on TV and web-series fill our timelines and social media feeds. It has become a sort of a cultural phenomenon which seems to be growing in both numbers and depth. There are some shows that are below average and some that are quite watchable, but a select few are simply awesome; here is a list of 10 awesome shows that you probably did not know about.

1. The End of the Fucking World

Netflix’s dark comedy-drama The End of the Fucking World is a live-action adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Charles Foreman. The show follows the story of James and Alyssa, two adolescent high schoolers who are complete misfits. James (Alex Lawther) is 17 and he believes that he is a psychopath, and Alyssa (Jessica Barden) is an obnoxious and rebellious classmate who tries to escape her tumultuous and dysfunctional home. The show was received with much acclaim and was praised for its writing, subject, execution, screenplay and acting by the leads.

2. People of Earth

This extremely underrated sci-fi comedy series is about “StarCrossed”, a support group for alien abductees and a journalist called Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac) who travels to meet the group and write a piece about their story. As the series unfurls further, Ozzie remembers that he too had been abducted by the same group of aliens when he was a child. Thought the show has now been cancelled; the two seasons that are available online are more than worthy for your next weekend binge-session

3. Atlanta

Donald Glover’s (aka Childish Gambino) comedy-drama portrays two cousins trying to make it big in the Atlanta rap scene. It is centred around Earnest Marks, a young college drop-out turned talent manager trying to get his cousin Paper Boi’s career off the pitch. The show was received well by both TV critics and viewers and it has an average rating of 8.5/10 on Rotten Tomatoes. The second season of the show premiered in March 2018 and it has received further critical acclaim.

4. Altered Carbon

Based on the novel by Richard K Morgan, Altered Carbon is a dystopian sci-fi cyberpunk series which premiered on Netflix in February 2018. The series is set 360 years in the future in a futuristic San Francisco known as Bay City. The complex narrative often jumps back and forth in time making it difficult to follow initially, but once you get the hang of it you’ll be addicted. Altered Carbon is the perfect show to binge-on for fans of movies like Blade Runner, Dark City and Ghost in the Shell.

5. The Man In the High Castle

Another show based on a novel of the same name by Phillip K Dick, The Man in the High Castle portrays an alternate history. In this version of history, the Nazi and Japanese forces win World War II and divide the United States as The Greater Nazi Reich, comprising the eastern part and the Japanese Pacific States to the west. The show is an incredible adaptation of the book and keeps the viewer engaged with powerful performances and a well-driven storyline.

6. Misfits

A group of young offenders doing community service are struck by lightning during a storm on the first day of their probation period. The five central characters develop superpowers after the freak storm, but they are not the only ones to have these new super-powers. This compelling show is full of British humour, sarcasm and slangs. It is a wonderful metaphor for the social realities of the day and age. It subverts the general perspective that people have on teens and portrays an honest picture of the bonds between friends. Misfits is a show that should be on everybody’s watch list.

7. Bad Education

BBC Three’s sitcom Bad Education broke the record for the highest rated first episode of a comedy in 2012. It stars Jack Whitehall as a young teacher Alfie Wickers – “the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system” – at the fictional Abbey Grove School. The series was met with harsh reviews from critics and press but it holds a 7.7 out 10 n IMDb. It is a light show with laughs and gags spread across its three seasons and movie adaptation, its a must watch for adolescent show lovers.

8. Electric Dreams

Philip K Dick’s Electric Dreams is a sci-fi anthology show produced by Channel 4. The series has 10 standalone episodes based on Dick’s works. Each episode in the show has a layered narrative which will totally blow your mind. It is not a show for the average sci-fi fan; the stories are deep and thought-provoking and leaves you with more questions than answers. The show was received with general acclaim for its production value and tone.

9. IT Crowd

Another British sit-com produced by Channel 4, IT Crowd revolves around the three dysfunctional and awkward staff members of the IT Department in the fictional Reynholm Industries. Maurice (Richard Ayoade), Roy (Chris O’Dowd) and Jen (Katherine Parkinson) are the outcasts of the office and are placed in the basement of the office which does ‘something’, we are never told what Reynholm Industries actually does. With hilarious slapstick based humour and cleverly formulated situational comedy, IT Crowd was filmed in front of a live audience. The live setting demands perfect comedic timing and execution which the show does perfectly.

10. The Handmaid’s Tale

An American dystopian web series, The Handmaid’s Tale is based on Margaret Atwood’s’ 1985 novel of the same name. It was ordered by the streaming service Hulu as a straight-to-series order of 10 episodes, for which production began in late 2016. The plot features a dystopian future following a Second American Civil War wherein a totalitarian society subjects fertile women, called “Handmaids”, into child-bearing servitude. This unsettling show has won 8 Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. In May 2018 was renewed for a third season.

This brings us to the end of the list of awesome shows that you might not have watched. We hope you like them all. If there are amazing shows that you know about then please feel free to let us know in the comments section.

Michael Jackson, a name the world will remember for eternity! He is the most popular man in the world and is the most successful entertainers of all times. “The King of Pop,” doesn’t need an introduction! It’s his 9th birth anniversary and the global icon’s popularity still remains unmatched. A little proof of which is that even post his death, he was setting unbeatable sales records on music charts. Now that’s what you call legendary!

The man who solely changed the face of pop music and took the world by storm for decades was born on August 29, 1958. On his 59th birthday, we bring you some interesting facts about the biggest star the world has ever seen!

1. He acted in a 1978 American film.

He was more than a musician, he was an actor too! The Wiz was a musical adventure fantasy film and was a commercial failure when it released. He starred opposite Diana Ross and his character was a fun loving and smart scarecrow. The film was even nominated for Oscars.

2. His career started with a Family Band.

The family music group ‘The Jackson 5’ or ‘Jackson five’ was formed in 1964. The founding members of the group were Michaels’ elder brothers Jackie, Tito, and Jermaine. Marlon and Michael joined the group later. When their music started to top Billboard, the fan following exploded and a popular term was coined called ‘Jacksonmania’.

3. He is the most awarded artist.

And countless other accolades! He is the most awarded recording artist in the history of popular music and has a whopping 197 major awards in his spanning career 45 years.

4. He was the son-in-law of Elvis Presley

And the marriage could only last for two years!

5. He has the best selling album of all times.

‘Thriller’ was Michael’s sixth studio album and has till date sold over 66 million copies.

6. He holds the record for the most expensive video.

Nobody forgets watching this video for the first time! It has been filmed on an elaborately built spaceship and the colossal treatment of the music video left audiences perplexed.

7. He was the first African-American artist to have his own video on MTV

The second track from Jackson’s 1982 album Thriller, ‘Billie Jean’, the song was released on January 2, 1983, and topped the Billboard 100 chart for a record-breaking seven weeks. It played a larger role in opening doors for artists of other colors to be featured on MTV.

8. He had 9 siblings.

Michael grew up with three sisters (Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet) and five brothers (Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, Marlon, and Randy). His brother Brandon, who was Marlon’s twin lost his life soon after his birth.

9. His lean move is patented.

When his single “Smooth Criminal” came out, the world was blown away with his move in which he leaned forward 45 degrees. It appeared as if he could defy gravity.

With a career that was so out in the public eye, these are still the lesser-known facts about the legend. The Moonwalker’s fandom was such, that 12 people committed suicide after the sudden news of his death broke out. His fan communities still grieve his death and they believe that without Michael, fame will never be the same again!

One thing that I totally love about festivals is how brands leave no stone unturned to bring out unique advertising that touch the hearts of its audience. Well, I am talking about how our feeds are flooded with commercials all through celebratory occasions. Those twisting and turning of the festive feels to get the creative juices flowing and to make a personal touch is incredibly interesting. While some advertisements fall flat on face, some totally hit the bulls’ eye.

With Raksha Bandhan around the corner, we stumbled upon one such campaign that hooked us to its ad film almost within seconds. It’s by
Schmitten, the luxury chocolate brand and the campaign is titled #EkRakhiAur.  With its effective messaging, the campaign has effortlessly synced the essence of a Rakhi and the sacred bond between a brother and a sister to a woman’s freedom and right to equality.

See the film for yourself to know why it’s garnering praises countrywide.

The digital film beautifully weaves the notion of impartiality with a brand new concept of a second Rakhi. Rakhi can be summarized as a promise of respect, care and protection that the brother makes to his sister. The campaign crafted by ADK- Fortune suggests that a brother shouldn’t be shadowing his sister to protect her but instead, should be encouraging her to lead her life on her own terms. The film strikes a chord with us right away because we fully resonate with it as we are a part of a society that still has a long way to go before it ditches its regressive mindset that condemns parity between men and women.

The brand encapsulates the idea of adding sweetness to every moment in life and adorns a beautiful tagline “Moments Make Memories”. As soon as the campaign was live, it was an instant hit and went viral.  The digital campaign by far has over 2 Million views and over 15,000 shares on social media. Schmitten has also given audiences a platform to share their personal moments through a live contest and intends to make rational voices heard through initiatives like #EkRakhiAur.

According to Jayesh Desai, the Founder and Chairman of Rajhans (Desai-Jain) Group, the brand is trying to become a torchbearer of change. “Schmitten is a chocolate for the modern generation. In a category replete with heart-warming campaigns, we want to deliver a mature opinion. It is our aim to initiate change and address societal issues. #EkRakhiAur addresses one of the most pertinent issues of the day – of giving women their due right. #EkRakhiAur is a defining step towards achieving this goal.”

Envisioned by ADK-Fortune, #EkRakhiAur seeks to spark a new conversation about fairness and
dignity within the family. Commenting on its success, Akashneel Dasgupta, National Creative
Director, said “With #EkRakhiAur, we are trying to start a new tradition of equality. A modern
brother believes that respecting women starts at home. Which is why the second Rakhi stands for a promise of respect and acceptance of the sister’s freedom. The sister thanks the brother for
supporting her decisions. This should be the ideal kind of status-quo between siblings.”

Rishabh Verma, Marketing Head of Schmitten reiterated the same in his statement that; “The festival of Rakshabandhan needs to address the gender inequality that still exists in many Indian homes. Our latest initiative showcases the evolving relationship between a brother and sister through the brand lens. Schmitten wants to have a meaningful role in every special occasion such as that of Rakshabandhan and make these moments memorable.”

Subroto Pradhan, Managing Partner, ADK-Fortune said “We want Schmitten Moments to not only be the premium gift offering in the country, but also a name which provides a greater meaning to every occasion that turns into a lasting memory. Our vision is to make every special moment synonymous with Schmitten Moments.”

The campaign has certainly gained recognition and widespread acceptance for its progressive and thoughtful communication. Let this campaign be the beginning of a tradition that guards a woman’s dignity with as much delight as it guards the dignity of a man.

2018 has been quite an amazing year. The silver screen was lit, with movies like Black Panther, Mission Impossible: Fallout,  Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers Infinity War. 2019 seems to promise more awesome movies for us. From fantasy to drama to horror 2019 will have something or the other for every kind of moviegoer. Here is our list of the 10 most anticipated Hollywood movies releasing in 2019

1. Glass

The jaw-dropping end of M. Night Shyamalan’s 2017 blockbuster Split was probably one of the greatest moments in movie history. Bruce Willis’s 10-second cameo, reprising the role of David Dunn, connected Split with Unbreakable (2009). Glass will be the third movie in the franchise and it will be centred around Mr Glass, portrayed by none other than ’the bad motherfucker’ Samuel L Jackson. Shyamalan’s movies are known for their unexpected twists, and we can only imagine what Glass will be like. Starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson and James McAvoy, Glass is set to release on 18th January 2019.

Shyamalan’s unconventional super-anti-heroes collide against each other on the big screen

2. Hellboy

Fans of Hellboy have a reason to revel, as a cinematic reboot of Mike Mignola’s comic book character is underway. The movie was initially planned as a sequel to the two Hellboy movies directed by Guillermo Del Toro, but that script was shelved due to Del Toro’s schedule. Starring Stranger Things breakout star David Harbour in the eponymous role, the Hellboy reboot will hit the theatres on 11th January 2019.

Hellboy and his red “Right Hand of Doom” will be back for vengeance once again

3. Captain Marvel

The post credit scene in Avengers: Infinity War confirmed the arrival of Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will be first female-led superhero movie in the MCU and Brie Larson is taking on the titular role. MCU president Kevin Feige has stated, “You’re going to get the most powerful superhero that we’ve ever introduced with, I think, one of the most unique and inspiring origin stories.” Captain Marvel is expected to release on 6th March 2019.

It’s about time that we had a female-led superhero movie

4. Toy Story 4

Pixar is bringing back our favourite astronaut and cowboy duo of Buzz and Woody back to the silver screen. The fourth instalment in the Toy Story franchise the movie will be a stand-alone sequel and not a continuation of the third film. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Anna Potts will be reprising their respective roles as Sheriff Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Bo Peep. Toy Story 4 will be released in theatres on June 21st 2019.

The kid in you will definitely go crazy as Toy Story 4 will drive us down ‘nostalgia lane’.

5. John Wick Chapter 3

Keanu Reeves’s one-man army John Wick will be back for the third time. The first film of the franchise was released in 2014 and it sparked a frenzy among viewers with its intense action and insane-over-the-top-kills. The retired hitman seeking vengeance, John Wick kills a man with A PENCIL! Need we say more? It is one of the most anticipated movies of 2019 and will hit the theatres on May 17th, next year.

Mr Super-Sexy-One-Man-Army. Period.

6. X Men: Dark Phoenix

Sophie Turner’s role as Jean Grey, in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse gave us a glimpse of what her character will transform into in the future. The next addition to the franchise X Men: Dark Phoenix will be based on “The Dark Phoenix Saga”. Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender will be reprising their respective roles as Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix, Professor Charles Xavier, Mystique/Raven and Magneto/Erik Lansherr. Ishirō Honda’s Gojira (Godzilla in English) kicked off the MonsterVerse in 1954; with over 33 films in the franchise has a complex universe. It has a fan base between more than two generations of people ever since its initial release. On May 31st 2019 the world will witness another tale of the might Godzilla: King of Monsters unfurling at theatres. Produced by Legendary Pictures the movie is definitely the most anticipated movie of the entire year.

8. Star Wars Episode IX

The latest addition to the ongoing sequel trilogy of the saga from a galaxy far far away… Star Wars Episode IX is set for release, towards the end of 2019. With the fate of the Resistance lying in the hands of just a few survivors aboard the Millenium Falcon,  their allies scattered across the outer-rim and the First Order now under Kylo Ren’s command. Rey, Finn and Poe seem to be the last hope for the Resistance and we can’t wait for Episode IX to release, already.

“The Force is strong in this one”

9. Bond 25

Daniel Craig will reprise his role as James Bond in Bond 25 for one last time before the mantle is passed to someone else (we really hope its Idris Elba). The movie was supposed to be directed by Danny Boyle, but the official 007 twitter account(on 21st April 2018) confirmed that Boyle has departed from the film due to creative differences. The movie was set for release in October next year, but now we have no word from the company over the departure of the director. Yet, it is still a quite highly anticipated movie of 2019.

We’re really looking forward to Craig’s final run as the world’s coolest super spy

10. The New Mutants

We just can’t wait for the first horror-themed movie in the Mutant franchise

The first movie in the X-Men franchise produced under the premises of horror, The New Mutants. It will be focused on a group of young mutants held in a secret facility who fight back to save themselves. The New Mutants will bring characters like Wolfsbane, Magic and Cannonball (played by Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton) to the silver screen. The New Mutants are a relatively lesser know team outside the comic book fan base of the Marvel multiverse, and the movie will open in theatres on August 2nd in 2019.

That brings us to the end of the list but here are some honourable mentions that will be hitting the theatre next year; DCEU’s Shazam! and Wonder Woman 1984, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Masters of the Universe, and Secret Life of Pets 2. Tell us about the movies you are waiting for in 2019 in the comments below.

Ant-Man and The Wasp perfectly resonated with the spirit of the previous ensemble of 18 movies that have come to define the totality of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie’s intense visual depiction of the Quantum Realm poses a number of questions in the minds of the viewer. Is it a universe of its own? Is it a parallel universe? Or is it a parallel dimension? For answers, we’ll have to wait until early 2019, when Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel hit the theatres. As far as the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp is loosely based on pre-Infinity War, it certainly explains why Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Jolie), Ant-Man and Wasp were missing from all the action. They’re on the run from the federal authorities post-Sokovia Accords, as Ant-Man sided with Captain America. Hank (Michael Douglas) and Hope develop a Quantum Tunnel in an attempt to rescue Hank’s wife, Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) stuck in the Quantum Realm.

The real climax of the movie lies in the mid-credit cliffhanger that has been executed with utmost perfection and impact. *Spoilers Ahead* We see, Hope, Janet and Hank Van Dyne and Scott on a roof, ready to collect ‘healing particles’ from the Quantum Realm. We learn that with Janet’s modification the Quantum Tunnel’s size had been reduced to fit in the back of a van. Now, it could transport a single person to the Quantum Realm. Amidst all the science fiction and comedy in the scene, there lies a subtle hint as to what we can possibly expect. Janet tells Scott not to get stuck in a time vortex moments before he is transported to the Quantum Realm and they are all turned to dust, as Thanos snaps his fingers at the end of Infinity War. This is where the movie ties itself to the larger picture of the MCU.

1. Janet’s warning to Scott: “Don’t get stuck in a time vortex”

Janet Van Dyne’s cryptic message, delivered right before Scott is sucked into the Quantum Realm suggests a concept that has not yet been explored in the MCU. From the two Ant-Man stand-alone films, we have learnt that in the Quantum Realm time does not work the same way it does in the real world. It is quite possible that Ant-Man could travel through time and affect the events of the upcoming Avengers 4 movie.

2. Scott encounters a past version of Janet in the Quantum Realm

With all the talk about time working differently in the Quantum Realm, we have not yet ruled out the possibility of time being non-linear in the Quantum Realm. This comes straight out the research on quantum physics which suggests, all times are happening simultaneously and physical locations in the Quantum Realm also correspond with different times. Basically, in simple terms, Quantum Realm’s weirdness creates an intersection between all those times and locations. It is possible that Scott encounters a younger version of Janet because of this theory. Janet will always be in certain places of the Quantum Realm as they are different points in time, even though she returned to the real world.

3. Ant-Man could pop-up in Captain Marvel

We know that next year’s Captain Marvel starring Brie Larsson is set in the 90’s. This fact is quite an unapologetic hint tied to the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp. The warning about time vortex could suggest that Scott uses one of these to go back in time or accidentally goes back in time and shows up doing Captain Marvel’s time. It’s difficult to guess whether Ant-Man will be playing a major role in the forthcoming movie, but its quite possible that he could have a mid or post-credit cameo in Captain Marvel.

4. Scott gives Captain Marvel the heads up about Thanos

The time vortex complexity again makes way for another theory which suggests that Ant-Man would travel to warn Captain Marvel about the impending doom brought about by Thanos. The problem with this theory is that when Scott is trapped in the Quantum Realm he had no idea about Thanos or about Thanos snapping his finger to end half the life in the universe. The counter to this argument is that falling into a time vortex is accidental and that one is not in control of where or when one might travel to. It is possible that Ant-Man travels to the future and learns something new about the Infinity Stones, or something about how to defeat Thanos and take the information to Captain Marvel.

5. Ant-Man’s encounter with a time vortex alters the MCU

If time travel is what time vortex might make possible, then it is quite possible that Scott makes a journey across time. A journey which could alter the face and fate of the MCU. A simple warning from the future could massively affect the MCU as we know that Thanos has been on the scene since the first Avengers movie. That hint could come from Ant-Man travelling through time. We can’t be sure as to how or where or when Scott will pop up when escapes the Quantum Realm. But we can surely guess that he will have a big part to play in the events of next year’s Avengers 4.

Ant-Man and the Wasp’s mid-credit scene which leaves you gasping for air, trying to make sense of what just happened. The scene smashes on to you like the Mjölnir, but it definitely makes you wonder how those events will unfurl in the future movies. Tell us what you think about the most interesting mid-credit scene that MCU has produced so far.

It’s been two weeks since Sacred games aired on Netflix and the whole internet can’t stop talking about it. The love for web series in India is on an all time high and all streaming platforms are cashing on it. Sacred games was Netflix’s debut original series in India and others are not far behind. While players like Amazon’s prime video and Alt Balaji are giving it a tough time, TVF Play also has its own dedicated niche.

No matter who stays ahead, this competition is definitely a win-win for all content lovers. If your soul also feeds on such content and you love binging shows, here are some upcoming shows to look forward to.

1. Pitchers 2

It won’t be wrong to say that Pitchers was the landmark show that paved the way for more content creators to explore the web series format. It even made it to IMDb’s list of Top 20 TV mini-series and was popularly said to be India’s answer to the show Silicon Valley
The first season of Pitchers premiered 3 years back and fans have been eagerly waiting for the new season ever since. But, unfortunately, it was put on the back burner until now becauseTVF’s CEO Arunabh Kumar, who played Yogi, was roped into controversies of sexual harassment.

2. Little Things 2

Dice Media’s Little Things completely lived upto its title and beautifully portrayed the cute little things every relationship has. It normalized live-in relationships in the Indian landscape and was widely applauded by the urban audiences.
From being #CoupleGoals to the most cheerful couple on the internet, the show’s lead Dhruv Saxena (Dhruv) and Mithila Palkar (Kavya) infused a breeze of fresh air into the series with their effortless performances. And yeah, they are coming back once again with a new season to charm us all.

3. Gormint

Irrfan Khan starrer Gormint (previously known as Ministry) has been in the talks since the launch of Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video, in India. The brilliant and edgiest writers at AIB are debuting in the space with this show. It is a political satire that is expected to blow the audience’s mind.
But, it got postponed due to the ill-health of Irrfan. The actor is battling his neuroendocrine tumor in London and might come back to India later this year for the release. *fingers crossed*

4. The Forgotten Army

Kabir Khan’s project ‘The Forgotten Army’ is a five-part series that showcases the story around Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. The show will air on Amazon prime video and is reported to be the director’s most ambitious project.
The show is in its shooting stage and we can’t wait for it to release on our digital devices.

5. Made In Heaven

After Anurag Kashyap’s successful start at the small screens, Zoya Akhtar is all set too with her 10 episode show ‘Made In Heaven’. The series highlights the rivalry between the two wedding firms. It is currently being shot in Delhi and is all set to hit the screens later this year.
Shweta Tripathi of Masaan fame has also come on board for this one and we are all excited to watch the show.

Seems like the rest of 2018 is a treat for the lovers of good content. What are all shows you are looking forward to? Let us know in the comment section below.

Do you know what “spilling the tea” is? No, it’s not when your maid accidentally spills tea (and your heart breaks). What about “throwing shade”? Is it when you hold an umbrella for a loved one on a sunny day? Wrong again! These are popular phrases among the LGBTQIA community and have an altogether different interpretation from what their literal meaning is. Known for their colorful rainbow flag that reflects the diversity of the community, LGBTQIA folks have a vocab that is just as colorful. And in the spirit of pride and to celebrate equality, we thought we’d give you a crash course on gay slang that is part of the popular LGBTQIA culture. Some of these terms and phrases are so much fun that we see no reason why all of us can’t use them. After all, language has no orientation and doesn’t discriminate. And neither should you!

1) This may not be slang but you gotta start somewhere and this is it. LGBTQIA stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans (gender or sexual), Queer (also sometimes questioning), Intersex and Asexual. Why so many identities? Because not everything is black and white, and the rainbow has one too many colors. That’s what makes it special!

2) These are nothing more than roles in bed. Simply put, the one “who puts it in” is referred to as Top, the one who “takes it” is Bottom and those who “like it, both ways” are called Versatile. There are many variations in between (because sex isn’t one dimensional, people!) And oh, the one who Tops is not the man in the relationship and the one who Bottoms isn’t the lady of the house. Stop trying to heteronormalize the gays!

3) This one is my personal favorite! Tea is another word for gossip, so phrases like “sipping the tea” or “spilling the tea” all refer to gossip. How fun is that?

4) This is a blanket term for being bitchy. But that’s not entirely what it is. Throwing shade is a subtle art. It’s when you make a sly remark about someone with no one else catching the insult except who it was directed towards. Fun, no?

5) Don’t confuse this with the Punjabi folk dance of Kikli. Kiki refers to a gathering of friends to kick back, relax and gossip. Yes, you’ve been kiki-ing all this while and didn’t even know it. But now that you do, let’s have a kiki, shall we?

6) This one is anything but violent! Beating refers to applying just the right amount of make-up and looking flawless. So next time you are about to hit that party, beat that face to perfection!

7) No, this one has nothing to do with telling time. A verb, clocking is used to describe the action of spotting what someone is trying to hide. Yes, the time when you told a friend off who was looking ridiculous in her Gucci rip-off dress, you clocked her!

8) No, these aren’t different types of animals but terms used to describe types of gay men based
on physique and body hair. A cub is a husky, hairy man. An otter is slim and mildly hairy. Bear is
a term used for a man who has a bigger built and is hirsute. Come to think of it, these make total
sense!

9) This one isn’t derived from the word Twinkle, and has nothing to do with it. In gay terms, twinks
are younger, slim men with minimal body hair and no facial hair. Think Justin Bieber in his younger days. What’s a twunk then? A twink who is a bit of a hunk with some muscle thrown in. Think Justin Bieber now.

10) Another one of my favorites, this is a way of congratulating someone for “making it”! Got a good appraisal at work? You came through! Won a lottery? You came through! Liked and shared this article? You definitely came through!

11) This one surprisingly dates back to Shakespeare’s time. It literally stands for “Dressed Resembling A Girl” and refers to a man or a woman who dresses up or impersonates someone of the opposite gender for fun and entertainment. Still confused? Google Rupaul!

12) Think you are having a good day and you’re looking your best? Congratulations, ‘cause you are fierce! The term refers to anything that’s good, intense, satisfying, powerful, or beautiful.

13) This one is pretty easy and very close to its literal meaning. Whenever someone is being bashful and showing off, they are showboating in a word.

14) If someone calls you this, you should thank them instead of getting offended. Sick’ning is used to describe someone or something which is beyond awesome, incredibly amazing, or totally hot.

15) Well, this one isn’t a fun way of saying busy. Pronounced like pussy, bussy has a similar meaning but for male anatomy. Get it?

There you have it! The tea on these slang terms has been spilled. Now don’t be shady and let’s have a kiki later, okay?
