Director Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Kashmir Files,’ based on true events and told from the perspective of a Kashmiri Pandit, is a dramatised version of events that occurred in 1989. The film begins on an innocent note, with a euphoric cricket commentary on the radio and young Kashmiri children playing cricket in the snow-covered landscape. The dialogues from the Kashmir Files represent the voices of tens of thousands of Kashmiri Pandits who were forced to flee their homes. The film was also screened in several cities prior to its release for displaced Kashmiri Hindus living in various parts of India. The Kashmir Files, produced by Zee Studious and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, was released in theatres on March 11th. The film received a positive response from critics and audiences upon its initial release.
