12 Homophobic Remarks From Indian Leaders That Are Simply Gross

   

In case you didn’t know, the month of June is also recognised worldwide as the official Pride Month. What’s Pride Month, you ask? In a nutshell, it is the month of celebration, protest, and political activism in the LGBTQ community. And while countries around the world celebrate equality and rainbow flags are to be seen everywhere, India continues to live in the pre-historic times when homosexuality was a criminal act. You may say that India has come a long way, with Pride marches and the occasional token gay character in KJo’s movies, but we’d like to disagree. Still think otherwise? Read these grossly homophobic remarks from Indian leaders garbed under the pretense of “Indian culture” and hang your heads in collective shame.

1. If only Yoga could cure foot-in-mouth disease.

Fellow Indians, we have only one thing to say – choose your leaders wisely. They can lead you to a bright sunny future or drag you back to the dark ages. Unfortunately for India, regressive thinking prevails thanks to our leaders.
