3. Delhi Crime
Undoubtedly the best show available on Netflix, Delhi Crime is a powerful adaptation of a real-life crime that shook the nation to its very core in 2012. Based on the Nirbhaya case, this web series follows the aftermath of the horrifying gang rape as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi goes forward to find and punish the culprits. One of the first Netflix India Originals, Ghoul is a show that is just 3 episodes long. A new prisoner in a military detention center unravels several dark secrets of his interrogators, having been possessed by a Ghoul. The performances out-do the script which is slightly loose in certain areas.
8. Stories by Rabindranath Tagore
Kudos to Anurag Basu for creating this masterpiece. Of course, more than half of the credit goes to Rabindranath Tagore himself for writing such wonderful and progressive stories for generations to read. There have been multiple adaptations of Tagore’s works, but Basu’s vision and direction give a new life to these stories. From Chokher Bali to Kabuliwala, these stories will leave you mesmerized. And the acting is so on point! Do have a keen ear to notice the background music and a few songs written by Rabindranath Tagore that have been reprised in this series. This show is an experience of a lifetime.

An able adaptation of Vikram Seth‘s famous novel ‘A Suitable Boy’, this show is one of the best Indian web series on Netflix. Set in post-Independence India, the story of Lata whose mother wants her to get married to a ‘suitable’ boy. The story is much more than just a matrimonial quest. It is a dive into history, an interesting take on love, an appreciation of art and skill, and overall a celebration of individuality.
11. Kota Factory
Running into 2 seasons and possibly anticipating the third season, this series has gained popularity for holding up a mirror to society, and especially to the youth of the country who are stuck in a rat race. Set in the city of Kota, which is famous for its numerous coaching centres and educational institutes, this one makes for a great choice if you want to binge-watch quality content.
With Raveena Tandon in the lead, this series follows two officers as they attempt to solve a murder case amidst external pressures of politics, personal tensions and much more.
13. Tajmahal 1989
A tale of love, or the absence thereof, in the life of some commonplace characters who come to be related to one another in some way or the other. Tajmahal 1989 is a refreshingly presented take on that complex thing called love and all its nuances, and stars amazing performers like Geetanjali Kulkarni, Sheeba Chaddha, Neeraj Kabi, Anud Singh Dhaka and Anshul Chauhan.
14. Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhein
Shweta Tripathi and Tahir Raj Bhasin shine in this thriller series which revolves around a guy who has to save himself from the suggestive advances of a local politician’s daughter, and all that he is drawn into in the process.
15. The Fame Game
Madhuri Dixit announces her arrival on the platform of OTT with this series, where the central character is a star called Anamika Anand. When she goes missing one day, chaos ensues and tough questions are thrown up.
16. Masaba Masaba
The mother-daughter duo, Neena and Masaba Gupta star in this series that takes us through their own lives, especially that of the fashion designer, as the name suggests. An acting debut for Masaba Gupta, who has already worked in her second web series, this show makes for a fun watch.
