1. Shutter Island

‘Shutter Island’ is a 2010 psychological thriller, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Ruffalo. Set in 1954, the movie deals with the disappearance of a child murderer. Shutter Island is a rocky remote island outside Boston. A Civil War-era fort has been converted into a facility for the criminally ill. Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule arrive at the island to investigate the case, but there’s no way to come out of the island alive. 

2. Forrest Gump 

‘Forrest Gump’ is a 1994 comedy-drama, based on the novel by Winston Groom. Tom Hanks plays the main role in the movie named Forrest Gump. We follow his life through several decades. The Alabama man with an IQ of 75, merely wants to be reunited with his childhood sweetheart. However,  contrary to this, he experiences the Kennedy and Johnson presidencies, the Vietnam War, the Watergate crisis, and other historical events in 20th-century America.

3. Fight Club

Based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk, 1999’s ‘Fight Club’ stars Brad Pitt, Edward Nortan, Helena Bonham Carter. Norton portrays the unidentified narrator, who is unhappy with his white-collar employment. He creates a “fight club” with soap salesman Tyler Durden, and he starts dating Marla Singer, a homeless woman. The movie gives an adequate portrayal of men in the 90s. According to some critics, it struck a chord with men that caused discussion in publications all across the world.

4. Train to Busan 

‘Train to Busan’, which was directed by Yeon Sang Ho, is the ideal example of the individual vs the collective. What could possibly go wrong on a train trip? A zombie attack occurs when a divorced workaholic and his daughter are traveling to Busan by train. With people turning into zombies, Seok Woo needs to save his daughter. Seok Woo’s transition from being self-centered to altruistic is one of the main themes of the movie.

5. Inception

Leonardo DiCaprio as a skilled thief in the movie who obtains information by penetrating his victim’ subconscious. He is given the opportunity to have his criminal record cleared in exchange for implanting someone else’s concept into the target’s brain. However, the CEO’s terrible background could spell disaster for the project and his crew. ‘Inception’ bagged several awards including 4 Academy Awards and Bafta. 

6. Interstellar

Another science-fiction from Christopher Nolan is what one might expect. The movie, which is set in a future world in which humankind is fighting for survival, centers on a team of astronauts who venture through a wormhole close to Saturn in quest of a new planet for humanity. It received various nominations at the 87th Academy Awards. Nevertheless, “Interstellar” is nevertheless a strong, occasionally breathless film that completely absorbed me to the point where my typical criticisms of Nolan’s work vanished. 

7. The Wolf of Wall Street

Based on the real-life events that led Jordan Belfort from being a wealthy stockbroker enjoying the good life to his downfall through criminal activity, corruption, and involvement with the federal government. Wall Street serves as a metaphor for American ability and greed, and Martin Scorsese’s portrayal of it is riveting and intense. ‘Parasite’, modern classic wrath mixed with ominous humor, is based on the 1960s classic “Housemaid Tale.” The poor Kim family easily swoops into the wealthy Park household. The endangered relationship between a lower-class South Korean family and an upper-class family motivated by greed and class prejudice is further explored by Bong Joon Ho. There are a lot of tense moments in the movie, so the characters are quite interesting. It is one of the best movies  for its theme and concept.

The first film of the Conjuring Universe Franchise is a supernatural, horror film, released in 2013. In the film, writers and paranormal researchers are involved in well-known haunting instances. The Amityville Horror novel and film franchise were inspired by their allegedly true-life accounts. The Warrens help the Perron family, who in 1971 began to encounter increasingly unsettling occurrences in their farmhouse in Rhode Island.

11. Gravity

On her first shuttle mission, Dr. Ryan Stone is a medical engineer. Veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky, who is piloting his final mission before retiring, is her commander. The shuttle is then destroyed, leaving Ryan and Matt trapped in deep space with no connection to Earth and no chance of rescue. This catastrophe occurs during a normal spacewalk by the two. They understand that going further into space might be the only way to return home as their terror turns to fear.

12. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

In the last years of Hollywood’s Golden Age in 1969 Los Angeles, a fading television star and his stunt double seek recognition and fortune. The 1950s television Western that actor Rick Dalton starred in brought him fame and money. He is now having difficulty locating meaningful employment in Hollywood that he no longer recognizes. With his laid-back closest friend and frequent stunt double, Cliff Booth, he spends the majority of his time drinking and hanging around. Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate, a director and aspiring actress, who had their lives forever changed by the Manson Family, also happen to reside next door to Rick.

13. Birds of prey

When Harley Quinn’s explosive split from the Joker places a huge bullseye on her back, it’s open season on her. Quinn is unprotected and on the run from the egotistical criminal boss Black Mask, Victor Zsasz, his right-hand man, and all of the other thugs in the city. But when Harley unexpectedly forms alliances with the three lethal ladies Huntress, Black Canary, and Renee Montoya, things quickly become more balanced for Harley.

14. Gladiator

An ex-Roman general seeks retribution on the despotic emperor who murdered his family and sold him into slavery. Maximus, one of the preferred generals of his predecessor and father, Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the renowned stoic philosopher, is deposed by Commodus, who also removes his rank. Then Maximus is forced to participate in deathmatches in the gladiator arenas. 

15. The Bank Job

Terry Leather, is a self-declared ex-petty criminal who now works as a struggling car salesman and lives in a typical London neighborhood with his wife and children. He decides to go back to his old ways when his ex-girlfriend Martine approaches him with an opportunity to commit to a successful bank heist. After gathering his band of misfits and starting the operation, Terry discovers that there are other goals at stake and significant actors with an interest in the contents of the vault.
