With the world now leaning more on OTT platforms, web series actors are rising to fame, deservedly so. These platforms have produced web series even between the Pandemic and have entertained us through the lonely period of the quarantine. None of this would be possible without the incredible performance delivered by actors in these web series. This is why we have come up with a list of some of the best Indian web series actors, for those of you who have become big fans of these incredibly talented actors and their shows!

1. Dhruv Sehgal
Dhruv Sehgal is an Indian actor and screenwriter who has appeared in productions such as Filter Copy and Little Things. Sehgal was born and raised in Delhi. He attended the Pune-based Symbiosis Institute of Media & Communication. Sehgal worked on I am Offended as an editor and as an assistant director for the documentary Baavra Mann. He also directed Kunal, a short film that won the Golden Gateway Dimensions Mumbai Award at the 2015 Mumbai Film Festival. For Filter Copy, he co-wrote and acted in several comedic routines, including Confusing Things Girlfriends Say and Annoying Things Boyfriends Do. His most popular web series performance is in ‘Little Things’ on Netflix.

2. Mithila Palkar

Mithila Palkar is a 1993-born Indian actress. Her YouTube video ‘Confusing things a female say’ launched her career. Young girls now aspire to be like her. She played Imran Khan’s sister in the film Katti Batti. She is now collaborating with Bindass on a web series called “Girl In The City.” Meera Sehgal, a 21-year-old girl who comes to Mumbai to pursue her ambition of becoming a fashion designer, was played by her. The web series has gotten a lot of positive feedback. She is most well known for her lead role alongside Dhruv Sehgal in ‘Little Things’.

3. Jitendra Kumar
Jitendra Kumar is an Indian actor who graduated from IIT Kharagpur, with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. This is where he began his acting career while a member of the university dramatics club.  His friend later persuaded him to work as an actor in “The Viral Fever,” where he has been in numerous online series.  “Kota Factory,” “The Bachelors: Season 2” on TVF, and “Panchayat” on Amazon Prime are among his best-known works.  “Gone kesh,” “Shubh mangal zayda savdhaan,” and “Chaman bahaar” are among his other films.

4. Sunny Hinduja
Sunny has made a name for himself in the Indian cinema industry in recent years, with some notable performances in major roles. He starred as ‘Rustom’ in director Ajita Suchitra Veera’s film Rustom, which was nominated for Best Picture at the 2014 Academy Awards out of 3,000 films worldwide. Sunny also played Milind in “The Family Man.” He has very recently tasted the fame with Sandeep Bhaiya character in the TVF Aspirants web series on YouTube.

5. Naveen Kasturia
Naveen earned his first television commercial when he went to visit Dibakar Banerjee to assist him as an AD, and Banerjee requested him to work in his Coca-Cola commercial. Naveen Kasturia has been in a number of advertising for companies such as Vodafone, Mahindra, Tapzo, Marathe Jewellers, True Value, and others. Later, he worked with Dibakar Banerjee on LSD and Shanghai and Oscar winner Danis Tanovi on Tigers, an international film. Amit Masurkar offered Kasturia a film called Sulemani Keeda in 2011. The film, which was released in 2014, proved to be a watershed moment in his career. Before Pitchers, Naveen created a couple more sketches with The Viral Fever. He rose to fame with TVF Qtipyapa, TVF pitchers. And has also recently worked on TVF Aspirants.

6. Abhishek Banerjee
Apart from films, Banerjee has also been in web series such as TVF Pitchers in 2015, Mirzapur in 2018, and Typewriter in 2019, in which he played the character of ‘Fakeer.’ He and his friend Anmol Ahuja own “Casting Bay,” where they cast performers for commercials, films, and web series. It was founded in 2017. He starred as Jin Liang in the ZEE5 web series “Kaali 2 (2020)” in 2020. In the Amazon Prime web series Paatal Lok, he played the lead antagonist and feared serial killer Vishal Tyagi (Hathoda Tyagi). He also served as the web series’ casting director.

7. Rasika Dugal
Rasika has acted in a number of films, television shows, and short films, exploring the complexities of a variety of characters in artistically challenging and socially relevant productions, which makes her one of the most talented Indian web series actors. She is well recognised for her roles in feature films such as Manto, Hamid, Qissa, Kshay, and Lootcase, as well as short films such as Chutney, The School Bag, and Banana Bread. Her numerous roles in digital series such as the fiery Beena Tripathi in ‘Mirzapur,’ and the idealistic detective Neeti Singh in ‘Delhi Crime,’ have earned her many awards and a large following. She also starred as Dr. Meera Kapoor in the television series ‘Out of Love.’

8. Angira Dhar
Angira Dhar is an Indian actress who was born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. She began her acting career on television, anchoring the show “Beg Borrow Steal” on UTV Bindass. Dhar has appeared in commercials for Cadbury Silk, Domino’s India, and Everyuth, among other brands. Ek Bura Aadmi, her Bollywood debut, was released in 2013. She portrayed a young and independent girl in the web series Bang Baaja Baarat in 2015. In 2018, she starred in Love per Square Foot alongside Vicky Kaushal. Commando 3, starring Vidyut Jammwal and directed by Aditya Datt, is one of her next Bollywood films.

9. Yashaswini R Dayama
Yashaswini began her acting career in 2016 with the film ‘Phobia,’ in which she co-starred with Radhika Apte. She is well recognised for her performances in FilterCopy’s YouTube videos and the Adulting series. She rose to prominence after starring in ‘Dear Zindagi’ as Kaira’s (Alia Bhatt) best friend. She’s also starred in online series including ‘What Are The Odds?’ and Amazon Prime original ‘Made in Heaven.’

10. Shweta Tripathi
Shweta Tripathi is an Indian actress who has appeared in films such as ‘Masaan,’ ‘Haraamkhor,’ and is most well known for the Amazon Prime Video series ‘Mirzapur.’ Tripathi’s most recent film, Gone Kesh, stars her as a young dancer who develops alopecia and loses her hair, as well as her self-esteem. She portrayed Dr. Shreya in the second season of Laakhon Mein Ek. Her next appearance will be in the Disney+ Hotstar web series Escaype Live.

13. Jaideep Ahlawat
He made his debut as a villain in Priyadarshan’s Khatta Meetha, and his best flicks include Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and Kamal Hasan’s Vishwaroopam. The success of the film Gangs of Wasseypur helped Jaideep earn enough fame in India, and it was a turning point in his life. In the same year, a Hindi version of the film, Vishwaroop, was released, gaining him greater popularity. Kamal Hassan, impressed by his acting abilities and popularity, cast him in the sequel Vishwaroopam 2, which was released in 2016. He also appeared in the television series Bard of Blood. His most famous performace is in ‘Paatal Lok’ as inspector Haathiram.

14. Sumeet Vyas
Vyas made his television debut in the Doordarshan serial Woh huye na tumhare, in which he had a minor role. He later played Karthik in the TV programme Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein. He also starred in Rabindranath Tagore’s television series Stories. In 2009, he made his Bollywood debut in the film Jashn. After that, he went on to star in the film English Vinglish. Guddu Ki Gun, Parched, Aurangzeb, and Kajarya are among his more than 30 film credits. He’s been in several online series, notably Permanent Roommates and TVF Tripling, which he also co-wrote. He wrote the online series “Bang Baaja Baaraat” for Y-Films.

15. Vikrant Massey
Massey has been in a number of web series, including Mirzapur, Broken But Beautiful, Criminal Justice, and Made In Heaven, a webseries about two wedding planners in Delhi who manage a company called Made in Heaven. Arati Kadav wrote and directed the science fiction film Cargo, which starred Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi. Cargo premiered in the highlight section of the 2019 MAMI Film Festival and is available on Netflix.He starred alongside Deepika Padukone in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak in 2020. Ginny Weds Sunny, directed by Puneet Khanna and produced by Vinod Bachchan, starred him opposite Yami Gautam and was released on Netflix.
