This Indian reality show is loosely based on the Dutch show Big Brother which again is based on the novel 1983 by George Orwell. Contestants are locked up inside a fully furnished house for a few months and made to perform various tasks that are emotionally as well as physically challenging. Over the years, the contestants of this show have been famous/infamous for various reasons, mostly their outburst and their creative way of surviving in the show. Most of these contestants have acquired a huge popularity and success right after their stint in this reality show. The show has no less than 7 versions across languages in India. 1. Sidharth Shukla
Winner of Bigg Boss 13, the most successful season of Bigg Boss, Sidharth Shukla was a household name even before entering the show. With shows like Balika Badhu and Dil Se Dil Tak, Shukla had won the hearts of millions. His popularity grew two-folds with his performance in the show. Rahul Mahajan, the son of the former union cabinet minister Pramod Mahajan, has been a part of not one but three seasons of Bigg Boss! He is known for his exit from Bigg Boss 2 when he jumped off the wall to escape from the house. Over the years he has been recognized as an entertainer mostly for his weird and comic antiques.

The amount of popularity that Nora Fatehi gained after the show remains unmatched to date. While she wasn’t that successful within the show and was eliminated very soon, she managed to catch many eyes. Now it’s difficult to imagine any party song without the presence of Nora Fatehi in it. 11. Gauahar Khan
Winner of the 7th season of Bigg Boss, Gauahar Khan garnered a good amount of popularity and boost in her career from the show. Soon after the show she acted in many films and was the lead dancer in several hit songs. She even hosted a show called India’s Raw Star.

12. Hina Khan
After working in the same show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, for several years, she participated in the 11th season of Bigg Boss and emerged as a runner-up. She later reprised the role of Komolikka in the sequel of the popular serial Kasauti Zindagi Kay.

Better known as ‘Mastermind’, Vikas Gupta shined in his season of Bigg Boss. His fights with Shilpa Shinde and his constant plea to run away from the house brought him into the limelight. 14. Rakhi Sawant
Rakhi Sawant, although popular, soar to new heights of popularity for her crazy antiques in Bigg Bogg 14. She gave way to several memes, reels, and videos, celebrating her out-of-the-world behaviour in the house.
