Early Life & Education 

Vineeta Singh was born in Gujarat, India in the year 1983. Her father worked as a scientist at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences whereas her mother is also a Ph.D. holder. Vineeta is married to her co-founder Kaushik Mukherjee and is a mother to two young boys- Vikrant Mukherjee and Ranveer Mukherjee.

She completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, R.K Puran, New Delhi. She completed her under graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in the year and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. She did her post graduation from IIM Ahmedabad to study MBA, where she also got the opportunity to serve as a summer intern at Deutsche bank. You would be stunned to know that Vineeta was given a job offer of ₹1 crore per annum which she declined to pursue her dream of having her startup. Even though her friends and family made various remarks about her decision, Vineeta aimed towards a bigger goal.

Career

Vineeta began her career by working as a director at Quetzal Online Private Limited in Mumbai after completing her MBA. After 5 years, she quit her job and realised that the only way to be an entrepreneur is by actually being one. After brainstorming and researching, she started working with a beauty subscription firm known as Fab Bag. During her journey there, she started to understand the basics of the struggles of Indian women in the cosmetic field and what kind of products they need to meet their requirements. Thus, after interviewing tons of women, she started her own company called SUGAR cosmetics along with her husband and partner Kaushik Mukherjee.

The USP of SUGAR cosmetics was built around the notion that the makeup was suitable for Indian conditions. Not only this, their products are 100% cruelty-free, vegan and affordable as well! Their initial plan was to get their products into a few local boutiques, however, rather than investing in advertising, they relied on the power of the word as it spread around the corner. Their company now offers a wide range of products, varying from skincare to everyday wear make-up!
