1. Thalaikavasamum 4 Nanbargalum – 6th April

2. Corona Papers– 6th April
A Priyadarshan film, Corona papers’ trailer itself was a riveting watch and I can only imagine how gripping the movie is going to be. Featuring Shane Nigam, Shine Tom Chacko, Sidhique, Jean Lal and Gayathrie Shankar, the Malayalam movie is about a serious racket operating in the state and how the main leads struggle to bust it and arrest the mastermind behind it. it is a promising crime thriller which will release on 6th April.
3. Section 306 IPC – 6th April
This section under the Indian Penal Code criminalizes the abetment of suicide which means if a person directly or indirectly provoked another person to commit suicide, he would be punished if found guilty. The movie is a court drama that has this very section as its main premise. The story deals with the suicide of an English writer and stars Renji Panicker, Rahul Madhav, Shanthi Krishna and Jayaraj Warrier in the main roles.
4. August 16 1947 – 7th April
Directed by N. S. Ponkumar, August 16 1947 is a new tale of the freedom struggle. Being completely fictional, the movie deals with freedom in a completely different sense. It stars Gautham Karthik, Revathy Sharma and Pugazh as lead characters. It also pursues a romantic love story of a duo for whom freedom becomes intrinsic to being together. The movie will be having a theatrical release on 7th April.
5. Ravanasura – 7th April
Starring Ravi Teja, Sushanth, Jayaram, Murali Sharma, Anu Emmanuel, and Megha Akash, Ravanasura is a Telugu psychological thriller film. After the success of Waaltair Veerayya, the audience is very excited about this movie where Ravi Teja is seen as a criminal lawyer. However, he is not just a usual lawyer. With world-class action, this fast-paced movie has all the tests that would keep you glued to your seat. It is one of the most awaited South Indian movies releasing in theatres in April 2023.
6. Ramachari 2.0 – 7th April
This Kannada movie releasing on 7th April stars Thej, Vijay Chendur, Chandana Raghavendra and Sparsha Rekha as the lead characters. The movie is about how a guy cracks the code of his family lineage and figures out the entire cycle. It follows an unusual plot and a new concept which makes ht movie all the more exciting!
7. Kolaambi – 7th April
Kolaambi is a malyalam drama movie starring Nithya Menon and Renji Panicker. Directed by T. K Rajeevkumar, the movie is set to release on 7th April. The plot of the movie has not been disclosed yet, so check out the movie in theatres on 7th April!
8. Veeram – 7th April
The Tamil film industry is on a roll. This movie which is set to release on 7th April has all genres in one. It will surely keep you entertained throughout. It follows the story of a young boy who does everything he can to be able to achieve his dreams.
9. Karungaapiyam -7th April
Karungaapiyam is a Tamil horror drama film starring Kajal Aggarwal, Regina Cassandra, Janani Iyer and Raiza Wilson in lead roles. The plot of the movie hasn’t been disclosed to the public but it’s refreshing to see a new horror movie in theatres.
10. Shaakuntalam – 14th April
I think the South Indian film industry wins the competition for the most attractive visuals. Shaakuntalam is yet another hopeful period drama starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role. The movie is an adaptation of the epic Shakuntala and is the most awaited South Indian movie of April 2023.
11. Ponniyin Selvan:Part 2– 28th April
We saved the best for the last! PS2 is finally coming back. The first part, released in 2022 was such a success that the famous director Mani Ratnam thought it would only be right to release the second part without any delay. The movie is a continuation of the journey of the great prince Aditya Chola to save his empire from doom. The star cast consists of the same ensemble cast from part 1- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram and others. The movie is going to release theatrically on 28th April.
