Greater Noida’s Society Bans Beloved Lungis and Nighties in the Society Premises

In a world full of bizarre incidents, we’ve stumbled upon a truly unique spectacle in the heart of Greater Noida – Himsagar Society. Recently a notice board message from Himsagar Society, going viral on social media, has managed to shake the foundation of sartorial freedom. Yes, dear readers, brace yourselves, for Himsagar Society has taken a stand against the mighty lungis and nighties and banned them inside the society’s Premises (except inside the residents’ own flats, thankfully).

The ‘Lungi-Nighty Ban’ Notice?

The notice titled “Dress code for walking around the Society Pemises” was issued by the RWA of Himsagar Apartments located in Pocket 4, Greater Noida.

The notice read, “It is expected from all the residents of Himsagar to pay special attention to your behavior and attire inside the society premises so that nobody objects to your conduct. Further, young impressionable kids learn from your conduct. Hence, everyone is requested not to go around the Society premises wearing Lungis and Nighties, since they are the attire to be worn inside your homes.”

The Society’s RWA claims that Lungis and Nighties are unfit to wear in public.

Lungi and the nighty—two iconic garments that have long graced the bedrooms of a significant portion of our great nation. Worn by millions, these outfits have become synonymous with comfort and ease, providing solace after a long day’s work.

Mixed Reactions On the Internet

As the photo of this peculiar notice found its way onto the vast realm of social media, some of them agreed to the decision and many of them erupted into a frenzy of disbelief and laughter.

This Twitter user questioned the decision.

Twitter user @santlani believes that the decision is a great step.

Twitter user @iamitmalhotra didn’t agree with the imposition of a dress code.

What should the men and women wear instead? asks @prolificsarcasm

As the Himsagar Society is in the news for their lungi-nighty controversy, we can’t help but reflect on the absurdity of the situation. In a country celebrated for its diverse culture and traditions, should we not also embrace the diverse sleepwear choices that come with it? What do you think?

And if you happen to live in Himsagar Society, remember, fashion choices may come and go, but a good night’s sleep in a Lungi or a nighty is forever!
