Early Life & Education
Elon Musk was born on the 28th of June 1971 in Pretoria, South Africa. His father, Errol Musk is an Electromechanical engineer, seller, pilot, consultant, and property developer whereas his mother, Maye Musk, is a model and dietician. He has two siblings- a younger sister named Tosca and a younger brother named Kimbal. His father even served as a representative of the Progressive Party so it’s safe to say that he came from a wealthy family. Elon lived with his father after his parent’s divorce in 1980.
Musk went to Waterkloof House Preparatory School, Bryanston High School and Pretoria Boys High School during his childhood. He even attended the University of Pretoria for five months before moving to Canada in 1989. In 1990, he attended Queen’s University in Kingston for two years before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania to bag a degree in economics and physics. He did several internships in the meantime and in 1995, he got accepted into Stanford University, which he later dropped out of in two days.

Career
Since Stanford, Elon was successful in creating several firms. The first ever company that he created was Zip2 which was later bought by Compaq in 1999. Then he created X.com which later on merged with eBay. One of his most successful inventions was SpaceX, which manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft, which values at more than $100 billion.
Elon Musk has highly invested in Tesla as well, which is a company that manufactures and designs electrical vehicles. It was indeed Tesla that turned Elon into a billionaire in 2012 when he was just 40 years old! He also co-founded a neurotechnology startup company in 2016 with an investment of $100 million. He also founded the Boring company in 2017 which creates safe and low-cost transportation, utility and tunnels.
Other than his companies, he’s also the founder of the Musk Foundation, which provides solar power energy systems in disaster areas, and supports research, development and advocacy.
