Yashaswi Jaiswal on the back of an exceptional domestic season and an amazing IPL run got his Test debut in India’s away series against West Indies. His debut was as amazing as his career till now as he in his very first innings hit 171 runs and bagged the man of the match award. With this, he also became the first-ever Indian opener to hit a century on debut away from home.

Following an ODI match between India and Bangladesh, due to the umpiring decisions Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian Team Captain, was seen protesting against the umpiring decisions. So much so, in the post-match presentation, she can be seen criticizing the umpires.

3.) Kohli Hits His First Away Test Hundred After A Long Wait Of 5 Years
The moment we all Kohli fans were waiting for, seeing the king hit his first away test hundred after 5 years! This came in the second test against West Indies where Virat hit his 29th Test Century. Kohli hit a glorious cover drive against Shannon Gabriel to bring the century. This was also Kohli’s 500th International match thus this century was even more special.

4.) West Indies’ Joshua De Silva’s Mom In Tears After Meeting Kohli
In the same match, after Day 2, Joshua De Silva’s mother met Virat Kohli and soon teared up. In fact, she is such a huge Kohli fan that Joshua even admitted during the match that she came to watch Kohli and not her own son. Now that’s some fandom.

5.) Australia Retain The Ashes After Rain Plays Spoilsport
Since the 4th match of the 2023 Ashes got drawn due to rain, Australia retained the Ashes. The Australian team was leading 2-1 coming into the 4th match of the series and thus due to the draw go back with the urn. England looked threatening in the match and looked like they would have won the match had the rain not forced a draw.

6.) Broad Takes His 600th Wicket And Announces Retirement
The 37-year-old English bowler has impressed everyone over his long career with his bowling. On the first day of the 4th Test against Australia, Broad got the wicket of Travis Head and in doing so took his 600th Test wicket. With this, he became the 5th bowler ever to do so, and the 2nd Englishman after James Anderson to take 600+ wickets.
During the 5th Test of the Ashes we also got a surprise announcement from Broad, who decided to hang up his boots. Broad announce his retirement from cricket leaving behind a glorious career behind him.

7.) New Zealand Women Cricketer Eden Carson Bowls 11 Overs In An ODI Due To Umpiring Error
What is up with umpires and their errors? In an ODI match between Sri Lanka Women and New Zealand Women, due to an umpiring error Eden Carson who had already completed her quota of 10 overs ended up bowling another over. Though this didn’t have a major impact on the game as Sri Lanka needed 116 runs in 4 overs, this was against the rules of the game.

8.) Alex Carey Runs Out Jonny Bairstow Which Sparks Controversy
You know something interesting has happened when suddenly everyone starts talking about the spirit of the game. On the last day of the 2nd Test match of the Ashes, England were playing to save the match when Jonny Bairstow got run out by Alex Carey. What sparked the controversy was the fashion in his Bairstow got out. Cameron Green bowls a bouncer, Bairstow ducks, and the ball is received by Alex Carey who instantly throws it to the stumps. Bairstow believed that the over was completed and left his crease to talk to the nonstriker and gets run out.

9.) Rohit Sharma Batted At Number 7
In the 1st ODI against West Indies, Rohit Sharma decided to demote himself and came out to bat at number 7. Sharma might have started his career as a finisher but this time it was not because of that. This was done to promote youngsters like Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav to test them for the coming World Cup. In fact, Virat Kohli didn’t even come to bat even though India lost 5 wickets.

Tamim Iqbal in a 13-minute-long emotional monologue on live TV announced his retirement from international cricket. However, this decision was soon reversed. The reason? Bangladesh’s PM Sheikh Hasina and former Bangladesh captain Mahsrafe Mortaza intervened and convinced Iqbal to withdraw his retirement.

No one can stop MI from winning cricket tournaments, first the IPL, then the WPL, and now the inaugural Major League Cricket. The team didn’t end up high on the points table but won consecutive matches in the playoffs and in the end bagged the title.
