The 69th National Award Winners were announced recently and the artists totally deserved this prestigious award for their hard work and incredible performances. These awards are given to some of the most amazing artists who have outdone themselves by giving their career-best performances. There are some Bollywood actors who deserve these awards but have not been honored by one yet. Here is our list of Bollywood stars and artists who never won a National Award.

1. Shah Rukh Khan
It’s a little hard to believe that King Khan SRK never won a National Award in his life. We do not have to tell you why he deserves one. His movies with social commentary like Swades, Chak De India, My Name Is Khan, Dear Zindagi, etc. were all critically appreciated as well and they did well at the box office. We hope to see this superstar win one soon!
2. Hrithik Roshan
He has been in the industry for quite a long time now. Though mostly Hrithik is a part of typical Bollywood masala movies, his performance in all those is commendable. Not to forget his exceptional dance skills. He also never won the National Award.
3. Shahid Kapoor
His transformation from a sweet goody-two-shoes guy to an angry young man was incredible. His performance in Haider and Udta Punjab deserves a special mention yet Shahid never won the National Award.
4. Ranbir Kapoor
He is still considered a young actor but his career started more than 15 years ago. He is a versatile actor with a wide array of movies like Tamasha, Bachna Ae Haseeno, and Rockstar among others. Maybe we will see him win an award in the future just like his National Award-winning wife.
5. Kajol
Kajol was never the flowerpot in any movie and always had a meaningful role. Her presence was felt in the movie. For her enthusiasm and acting talent, she won many awards but never the National Award.
6. Aishwarya Rai
One of the few pageant winners who made it big in Bollywood. Aishwarya is still considered the most beautiful actress the industry has ever seen. And her acting skills complemented her looks. A perfect star in every sense but she never won the National Award.
7. Rani Mukherjee
She started acting when she was just 16 and has only continued to grow as an actor since. Her latest movie Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway is proof of her talents. Despite that, she too never won the National Award.
8. Dharmendra
Yes, our very own Veeru never won the National Award. Dharmendra has given some excellent movies in his time like Sholay, Seeta aur Geeta, Qayamat and the list goes on. He was honored with Padma Bhushan but never the National Award.
9. Dilip Kumar
It’s a little hard to believe that the legendary actor Dilip Kumar never won the National Award. He was the pioneer of method acting in India, a technique that helped many actors in the current generation to win the National Award but he was never awarded one.
10. RD Burman
One of the greatest music directors in the Indian film industry who gave us songs like Kya Hua Tera Vada, Yamma Yamma, Sholay Tiltle Track, and a long list of melodious tunes never won the National Award.
11. Dev Anand
The legend himself who was honored with Padma Bhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award was never given the National Award. If he didn’t get it, we are not surprised for others.
12. Rajesh Khanna
Regarded as the first superstar of the Hindi Film Industry, Rajesh Khanna gave several popular hits like Bawarchi, Anand etc. Yet this superstar never won the National Awards.
13. Kishore Kumar
The singing legend, Kishore Kumar who sang almost all the songs at one point never received the National Awards. This one is by far the most shocking name.
