Lagaan is one of the most iconic movies of Indian cinema and was also one of the most expensive Bollywood movies of its time. This musical sports drama movie shows a group of villagers learning cricket to beat the arrogant British officer Andrew Russell and his team in a match. In return, the villagers will take a tax exemption of three years from the British government. The movie won the hearts of all the Indians, got nominated for Oscars, and is still considered one of the classics that Bollywood produces.
