Jawan had a massive opening day collection with a record-breaking INR 75 crores in India. Of course, SRK broke his own record of Pathaan’s opening day collection ‘kyuki jab SRK hero banta hai na, toh uske aage koi hero nai tikta’ except SRK himself. Jawan had everything to be one of the movies with the highest opening day collections- good marketing, extra hype, a great ensemble cast, an amazing trailer, and the OG Superstar. The movie that started the whole conversation of the highest opening day collection! Jawan topped the list with 75 crores opening day which is the highest in India till now. SRK breaking the records early this time. But we won’t give all the credit to him this time, the ensemble cast, the powerful trailer and Atlee’s direction all came together for this. Not to forget South superstar Nayanthara opposite SRK and a cameo by our very own Deepika Padukone. Vijay Sethupathi as the villain is also present in the movie. And needless to mention the dynamic role of Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani. What a cast! It earned INR 130 crores worldwide till now!
2. Pathaan | 25 January 2023 | Opening Day Collection: INR 55 crores
Another SRK movie in the top movies with the highest opening day collection. Pathaan was Shah Rukh’s come on the big screen after a long time. Fans were definitely excited to see him in the theatres after so long. Plus the cast was so promising including Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. It was one of the highest-grossing movies with a worldwide collection of INR 1055 crores. This action thriller movie had SRK in his RAW agent/army avatar. Obviously, people were going to watch this!
3. KGF Chapter 2 | 14th April 2022 | Opening Day Collection: INR 53.95 crores
A movie people were waiting for eagerly was KGF 2. Not just Tollywood fans but the whole of India was waiting for this sequel to release. The action and thrill of the movie made it compelling to watch the second part. So we guess the formula for a grand opening collection is to make a blockbuster part 1! We can totally see how this movie had a worldwide collection of INR 1215 crore.

The Yash Raj Films Spy Universe continued with its third installment, War. It had both mega superstars of the action and dance world- Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan. This period-action-adventure movie was a highly anticipated one mainly due to its star cast which included Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sheikh. Another reason for a massive opening day collection could be that this movie released in Diwali. Though it kind of tanked at the box office later it was initially one of the movies with the highest opening day collection. It still managed to be in the 300 crore club with a worldwide collection of INR. 327.51 crore

Another SRK movie in the list, Happy New Year was a big banner movie. Directed by Farah Khan, this movie starred Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, and Sonu Sood along with SRK- some of the biggest names in the industry. It was bound to have a great opening day collection and a good worldwide collection of INR 397 crores. Happy New Year releasing during Diwali also played a major part in it having a good opening day collection.

Having a list with good opening collections and not including Salman Khan is no less than a crime. Bharat had the iconic Salman-Katrina duo which fans love to watch. Say whatever you may, Salman Khan can attract audiences like no one. The movie had a worldwide collection of INR 321 crores.
8. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion | 28th April 2014 | Opening Day Collection: INR 41 crores
Was there even a doubt for this movie? The first Baahubali had so much hype that the only question people had for the longest time was ‘ Kattappa ne Baahubali ko kyu maara?’ and this movie finally gave us the answer.
