Adipurush is an upcoming film based on Ramayana. It is the mythological tale we’ve grown up watching on TV and hearing stories from our grandparents. Although we love Ram and Sita, we have adored Hanuman, always forever, for his unparalleled heroism and devotion toward Lord Ram. As the film is slated to release soon, we can’t help but notice Devadatta Nage, who plays the role of Lord Hanuman in the film. Devadatta Nage is a popular Marathi actor who has played quite a few prominent historical and mythological roles. He became a well-known face for playing the role of Lord Khandoba in a super hit Marathi serial Jai Malhar. Devdatta Nage has also played significant roles in Bollywood films such as Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara, Satyameva Jayate, and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior.

Devdatta Nage is from Alibag, Maharashtra. He started his acting career with, “Veer Shivaji” a serial on Colors TV where he played the role of Tanaji Malusare. He has also acted in many Marathi TV shows such as Mrutyunjay Karnachi Amargatha” and “Bajirao Mastani”. One of his most iconic roles on TV is, as Samrat Vikhe Patil in StarParvah’s serial “Devyani”.
He made his debut in the film industry by acting in a Marathi film called Sangharsh in 2014. Then he went on to act in Bollywood films and played the role of Suryaji Malusare in his last release, Tanhaji. However, we think the role of Hanuman in Adipurush will be one of his best performances.
The poster of the film has created a stir amongst the netizens. Even the mainstream Bollywood audience is excited to watch Devdatta Nage enacting our most sought-after deities. Previously, Dara Singh played the role of Lord Hanuman in the TV serial and films. He was loved by the masses and people actually started to see him as Hanumanji. Now, it is Devadatta Nage’s turn. He must balance human emotions and divinity delicately. And thereby justify bringing something new to an old and revered folklore character. The film will release on the 16th of June 2023.
