1. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect | Prime Video
This is an Indian biographical movie on the life and work of Nambi Narayan, a scientist at ISRO who was accused of an espionage case that later proved to be untrue. R. Madhavan played the role of Nambi Narayan while also directing the movie. This movie won the Best Feature Film Award at the National Awards.
2. Gangubai Kathiawadi | Netflix
This is a biographical crime drama film based on the life of a young girl who was forced by destiny to live her life as a brothel worker and then owner. Alia Bhatt won the National Award for Best Actress for this movie for playing the role of Gangubai. The movie also got the National Awards for Best Screenplay (Adapted), Best Dialogue Writer, and Best Editing.
3. Mimi | Netflix
This is a comedy-drama film based on a sensitive topic about surrogacy and how a simple-minded girl falls into this trap. This movie covers such a sensitive topic in a very light-hearted tone without being offensive. Kriti Sanon won the National Award for Best Actress for this movie while Pankaj Tripathi won the Best Supporting Actor Award.

The movie revolves around Sardar Udham Singh and his reasons for assassinating Michael O’Dwyer. Vicky Kaushal played the lead role in this movie. The movie won the National Award for Best Hindi Film.
5. Shershaah | Prime Video
The story here is about Captain Vikram Batra and his role in the 1999 Kargil War. The movie also touches upon the personal life of Captain Batra. The film won the Special Jury Award at the National Awards.
6. The Kashmir Files | Zee5
The movie is based on the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir due to religious conflicts. The movie shows how people today look at the Kashmir issue and how some even spin the narrative of the exodus. Pallavi Joshi, who played an antagonist in the movie, won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress. The movie won Best Film at the National Integration Award.
7. RRR | Netflix
This Telugu language movie, directed by S. S. Rajamouli revolves around two fictional revolutionaries during the British period. The movie’s song Naatu Naatu won the Oscars. The movie won the National Award for Best Music Direction (Background Music) given to MM Keeravaani.
8. Chhello Show | Netflix
This Gujarati movie is a coming-of-age drama film that revolves around a 9-year-old boy who is fascinated by film and film-making. The movie won the National Award for Best Gujarati Film.
9. Moonnam Valavu | Prime Video
Also called Pathaam Valavu, this is a Malayalam language thriller film. The movie revolves around a police officer’s hunt for a convict on the run that takes an unexpected turn. The movie won the National Award for Best Environmental Film.
10. Pushpa: The Rise | Prime Video
This is a Telugu language action-drama film. The film is based on a coolie who turns into a smuggler of sandalwood. Allu Arjun won the National Award for Best Actor for playing the lead role of Pushpa Raj.
