3. Tip Tip Song from Sooryawanshi

This 90s sensuous song with the dashing Raveena Tandon was remade with Katrina Kaif for the movie Sooryavanshi. While we appreciate the sizzling dance performance by Kat, the OG was too good on its own:”)

4. Cheez Badi From Machine

Again an iconic masterpiece ruined for an average movie

5. Dus Bahane 2.0 from Baaghi 3

First Mundiyan toh bach ke rahi and now Dus Bahane, the Baaghi franchise truly tried its best to play with our favourite songs

6. Chamma Chamma from Fraud Saiyyan

The 90s item song featuring Urmila Matondkar was remade with Elli AvRam and this remake was sung by none other than… Neha Kakkar. You can imagine how the remake was…

Another Baaghi remake that was not well received by the audience.

8. Haseeno ka deewana from Kaabil

While the movie was an absolute engrosser this song was one part no one could bear to watch. With Urvashi Rautela, the remake just sounds cheap and too tacky.

9. Masakalli 2.0

They did us dirty with this one. Masakali has been the anthem for every Bollywood-loving girl since the very beginning. This remake is just not it.

10. Dil Mai Chhupa Lunga from Wajah Tum ho

Aise na Mujhe tum Dekho a classic Kishore Kumar song remade into Dil Mai Chhupa Lunga by Tulsi Kumar and Armaan Malik is not something that we needed.

11. Aashiq Banaya Apne from Hate Story IV

The original song from the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne was way too good to be remade. The song surely lost its previous appeal. This one has to be the worst song remake for me.

12. Manike from Thank god

Manike Mighe Hithe a song which was recently made popular by Sri Lankan singer Yohani was remade for the movie Thank God. Yohani’s original cover of the song was so peaceful that it went viral on all social media platforms and surely it gave us a remake. This remake however is not as bad as the ones we saw above.

13. Leja Re by Dhvani Bhanushali

Dhvani Bhanushali tried to remake this song by Shreya Ghoshal and Ustad Sultan Khan and it did not go well. It was a serious downgrade from the original one.

14. The Wakhra Song from Judgementall Hai Kya

The original song- Wakhra Swag was and continues to be one of the best Punjabi Hits. However, its remake for the movie Judgementall Hai Kya with the unnecessary Hindi lyrics completely upturned what the song was actually meant for

15. Dheere Dheere song

Okay, I agree Honey Singh had a huge cultural impact on us growing up but this remake was absolutely unnecessary :’)

These worst Hindi song remakes have tainted the image of Bollywood in the eyes of cinephiles and old Bollywood lovers. They not only indicate a lack of creative genius but also discredit the purpose of the original song by transforming it into something alien and unbearable. That’s not to say that all remakes are bad. Some remakes do way better than their original songs but that doesn’t mean every song needs to be remade. Here’s to hoping that our current favourites are not harmed by this ongoing plague of remakes.
