September has some of the best TV shows and movie lineups that we are eagerly waiting for. With the rise in OTT content as well as people going back to theatres, movies, and TV shows are releasing in bulk. Not that we are complaining as there is no compromise in the quality of these shows. 1. The Wheel of Time Season 2 | Prime Video | September 1

This American high fantasy television series is back with another season. The main characters of the show are on a quest to find the reincarnation of the Dragon who is prophesied to kill the evil entity called the Dark One. The show is filled with magic, supernatural beings, and a great plotline coupled with stunning visuals. Season 2 shall be no different.

2. Sex Education Season 4 | Netflix | September 21

Although season 3 ended on a bitter-sweet note (SPOILERS) with Maeve leaving for her further studies leaving Otis behind and Eric and Adam finally making it official, there was no cliffhanger but we wanted to see how life turns out now for students of Moordale as they adjust to the new term at Cavendish Sixth Form College. We cannot wait to see this series shattering more taboos around sex.

3. Gen V | Prime Video | September 29

This is an upcoming American superhero television series by Craig Rosenberg, Evan Goldberg, and Eric Kripke, which is a spinoff of The Boys by Kripke. The series will show how young adult superheroes or ‘supes’ are tested in battle royal challenges at the Godolkin University School. We are in for a new superhero movie of this generation!

If you think the Harshad Mehta scam was huge, you know nothing. The Telgi scam of 2003 was a scandal that involved INR 30,000 crores. 5. Bambai Meri Jaan | Amazon Prime | September 14

The much hypes crime-thriller by Farhan Akhtar is finally here. The 10-episode drama series revolves around the life of a man who is torn between his father-in-law’s law enforcement agency and the crime world he feels he belongs to all the while trying to protect his family from all this. The series is set against the backdrop of post-independence Mumbai and has all the elements of a gangster series.

6. Kaala | Disney+Hotstar | September 15

A crime thriller web series, the story revolves around an Intelligence Bureau officer who must solve a case rooted in the underbelly of a crime world, with power, revenge, and action playing in the background. A must-watch for thriller movie lovers.

7. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty | Telugu | September 7

A story about a feminist who wants to live her life alone and a man who wants to be in a committed relationship. The movie shows what happens when these two very different people cross paths. Also isn’t it cute that Mr. Polishetty is played by Naveen Polishetty!

8. Chandramukhi 2 | In Theatres | September 19

One of the most anticipated movies of all time. A sequel to the very successful horror comedy movie, Chandramukhi in 2005. The movie now has a new Chandramukhi – Kangana Ranaut. People are excited to see if she lives up to the expectations and if the movie is as good as the first one!

   

9. The Equalizer 3 | In Theatres | September 1

This American vigilante action thriller film directed by Antoine Fuqua is back with its third installment. The movie revolves around Robert McCall who moves to Southern Italy to escape from his past but later discovers that his new friends are under the control of the Sicilian Mafia. What follows next is a series of horrifying events where Robert sells his past to save his friends.

10. The Nun 2 | In Theatres | September 8

This is a sequel to The Nun and the ninth installment to The Conjuring Universe. Set four years after the ending of the first film, the film follows Sister Irene as she once again comes face to face with the demonic force of Valak, the Nun, at a boarding school in France. Turns out it is not easy to get rid of Valak. One of the best releases to look forward to in September!

11. The Expendables 4 | In Theatres | September 22

This upcoming American action thriller movie by Scott Waughis the sequel to the 2015 The Expendables 3. This time the Expendables are assigned on a mission to stop Rahmat, who runs a terrorist organization, from smuggling nuclear warheads that will ignite a conflict between Russia and the US.

12. After Everything | Netflix | September 13

This American romantic drama film is the fifth installment of the After Film series. We might see a possible love triangle between Hardin, Tesse and Natalie, Hardin’s former lover. All this coupled with the ups and downs of life and ultimately leads to whether or not Hardin will win over Tessa.

13. Athidhi | Disney+Hotstar | September 19

Athidhi marks Venu Thottempudi’s debut in the world of digital streaming. Although not much is known about the plotline of the movie, the poster shows a bruised Venu in an undisclosed location. We are waiting for this thriller to unfold soon!

14. Haddi | Zee5 | September 7

A transgender person moves to Delhi to join a gang of transgenders and cross-dressers. But you can only figure out if this movie is aspirational or revengeful only after watching it. We love the look of Nawaz as a transgender person!

15. Jawan | In Theatres | September 7

The most awaited film of the year is finally here. Jawan is an action thriller movie that stars Shah Rukh Khan in the main role. He is playing the role of a villain this time and has an ensemble of leading female actresses as his sidekicks. Also, he is opposite Nayanthara in this movie. The most exciting movie this month! One of the best releases to look forward to in September!

16. The Great Indian Family | In Theatres | September 22

This is an upcoming family comedy movie by Yash Raj Films. It is pure Yash Raj magic like a yesteryear movie with comedy, romance, drama and an overall family entertainer. With a huge ensemble cast like Vicky Kaushal, Manushi Chillar, Manoj Pahwa and many more, this sure is worth the wait.
