10 Biggest Bollywood Movie Clashes Of All Time

Bollywood movie clashes are not unknown to us. In fact, these clashes sometimes result in the promotion of movies better. Mostly the movie with popular Bollywood stars fares better than a movie with relatively lesser-known faces. Though times have changed, movie-goers still love a big Bollywood clash and love the drama that unfolds. With the release of Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day, people have started reminiscing all the biggest Bollywood clashes of all time. Let’s have a look:

1. Om Shanti Om vs Sawaariya (2007)

Ranbir’s debut vs SRK’s masterpiece coupled with the introduction of 2 leading ladies- Sonam and Deepika!! This was one hell of a clash. Not to forget Salman’s cameo in both movies!

2. Fashion vs Golmaal Returns (2008)

It was not Bebo vs PeeCee but a clash between genres – the dark truth of the fashion industry vs the mad cap hilarious riot with Golmaal Returns!

3. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai vs Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

The combo of legendary Amitabh Bachchan and entertainer Govinda could not live up to the buzz of Karan Johar’s directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

4. Mohabbatein vs Mission Kashmir (2000)

When your star cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aishwarya Rai, you pretty much know you can face off with anyone even Sanjay Leela Bhansali with his Mission Kashmir.

5. Don vs Jaan-e-Mann (2006)

Even star cast like Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, and Akshay Kumar, Jaan-e-Mann did not get the response it could have gotten with an individual release. SRK’s Don rallied up and made a massive box office collection proving yet again why SRK is the King.

6. Sholay vs Jai Santoshi Maa (1975)

This was a massive clash of that time as both films fared well but Jai Santoshi Maa took the highest box office collection home. Needless to say, Sholay became the biggest Bollywood cult classic movie of all time. It was a win-win situation.

7. Dilwale vs Bajirao Mastani (2015)

We could see how people’s perspective on movies changes over time. Dilwale with SRK- Kajol comeback and Varun-Kriti chemistry could not beat the period drama of Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Although Dilwale did overwhelmingly well internationally as compared to Bajirao, the Indian audience gave the crown to Ranveer-Deepika and not to forget Priyanka.

8. Jab Tak Hai Jaan vs Son Of Sardar (2012)

Although both films lacked the typical Bollywood magic, JTHJ received better recognition as it was the last film by legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.

9. Lagaan vs Gadar (2001)

Whenever it’s Aamir vs Sunny, the clash is epic. While Lagaan was the 3rd Indian movie to be nominated for the Oscars (Best Foreign Language Film), Gadar became the blockbuster movie of all time breaking the box office records of Sholay. So I guess, patriotism wins.

10. Aitraaz vs Veer-Zara (2004)

It was difficult for any movie to fare well in front of SRK in the 2000s. Aitraaz was ahead of its time as it talked about male abuse with a gripping storyline, brilliant star cast, and great acting but the cross-border epic love story of Veer Zara became people’s favourite and remains a classic of all time
