1. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One | July 12| Theatrical Release

Good news for all the Tom Cruise fans- Mission Impossible is back! Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is the 7th installment of the MI franchise of the action-adventure-thriller that will show Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) along with his IMF team have to find the deadly weapon created to destroy humanity and save it from falling into wrong hands. The movie is directed by Christopher McQuarrie making his return to direct the MI movie after Fallout and Rogue Nation. This movie also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, and Simon Pegg in pivotal roles.

2. Barbie | July 21| Theatrical Release

Barbie is another one of the most anticipated movies of the month. Ever since its trailer dropped online, people are excited and looking forward to its release. The fantasy comedy movie is centered around the most famous fashion dolls by Mattel- Barbie and Ken. There have been many animated movies made on this toy-based character but this is the first live-action movie made of Barbie ever! All the more, the movie stars notable actors like Ryan Gosling who is known for acting in offbeat movies like La La Land, and the Suicide Squad fame actress Margot Robbie. Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig and released worldwide on July 21. It became one of the biggest hits of the month alongside its competitor movie Oppenheimer!

3. Oppenheimer |July 21| Theatrical release

Oppenheimer is a biographical thriller based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus written by Kai Bird, and Martin J. Sherwin. It stars Cillian Murphy in the lead role of Oppenheimer including other famous stars like Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., and Florence Pugh. The whole story is set in the backdrop of World War II, when Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist, designed the atomic bomb during the Manhattan Project and is famously known as the “Father of the atomic bomb”. Interestingly, he was also fond of Bhagavad Gita and often read it (However, the movie created quite a controversy around it!) It became an interesting watch for many because of the intelligent story, memorable dialogues, and history interpreted in the best of ways!

4. They Cloned Tyrone | July 14| Netflix

This movie is a science fiction comedy John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx in the lead roles find themselves in an eerie encounter with a secret govt project, and from there they start their mission of unleashing the truth. The whole movie shows their journey of exposing a US government conspiracy of cloning people! The film directed by the debut director Juel Taylor also stars Kiefer Sutherland, and David Alan Grier in supporting roles. You can stream it on Netflix from July 14 onwards.

   

5. Haunted Mansion | July 28| Theatrical Release

It is a horror comedy movie that focuses on the life of a single mom who calls upon a tour guide, a priest, and a historian to help her get rid of the ghosts who inhabit her newly bought house. This movie is like a homage to the Blaxploitation types of movies that were created in the 1970s.  Haunted Mansion is directed by Dear White People’s famed director Justin Simien and on watching it- many viewers had a lot of rib-tickling moments and jump scares.

6. Insidious: The Red Door | 7 July| Theatrical Release

Insidious- the famous horror franchise has had 5 parts till now but people still remember the first installment as its best one. And now, the Insidious franchise is going back to its roots by bringing back the original cast who were in the first film! Insidious: The Red Door which is directed by the actor Patrick Wilson is said to be the final movie of the franchise and concludes any cliffhangers or unfinished parts of the story. The star cast includes Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson, Ty Simpkins, and Hiam Abbass in the main roles. The franchise started in 2010 and has succeded in meeting the expectations of the viewers. Although, the new part did not reach that hype as expected- it is still not be taken lightly because of all the scary parts!

7. Joy Ride | July 7 | Theatrical Release

It is a coming-of-age movie that shows Audrey, from Washington State going on a business trip to Asia along with her best friend, college friend, a cousin go astray. However, the journey becomes a learning experience for all of them and they discover the real meaning of friendship, bond, and self-love. Adele Lim is the director of the movie and it stars Ashley Park, Stephanie Hsu, Sherry Cola, and David Denman as main characters. Joy Ride was released worldwide on July 7 and you should watch it when you feel like going along with these 4 friends on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
