South Indian film industry is ready to amaze you with some of the biggest releases of the year getting released in the first month of the year! 1. Saindhav | 13 January 2024
A thriller movie that is releasing on Sankranti and has a big star cast including Venkatesh Duggubati, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Shraddha Srinath, among others. The movie focuses on a father-daughter relationship and explores many layers of it. Not much has been revealed about the plot because the excitement has to be kept- so let’s keep our hopes high and aim to get a great movie in return!
2. Captain Miller | 12 January 2024
It seems like an interesting crime drama thriller movie that is set in the forgone 1930-40s era when India was under British rule. The movie revolves around Miller, an outlaw and a fearless thief who engages in heists, robberies, and assaults. It shows the various ways in which this thief gives a tough fight to all the British soldiers. Captain Miller is a refreshing take on British-ruled India and it stars Dhanush, Shivarajkumar, and Mark Bennington in prominent roles.
3. Eagle | 13 January 2024
A riveting action thriller film featuring Ravi Teja, Anupama Parmeswaran, Navdeep, and Kavya Thapar in important roles. It is a mass entertainer with many action sequences and shows the main actor in the role of a dangerous criminal who can kill anybody who tries to come in his way. A team of experts and officials are making a plan to catch this man. So, in this chor-police fight who will end up winning? We all want to know!
4. Hanu Man | 12 January 2024
Hanu Man is an action-adventure movie set in a fictional place called Anjanadri where a man enters and somehow ends up getting the powers of Hanuman! Now, he must protect the place and the people of Anjanadri- how will he handle these powers and learn to use them to save the people? That’s what the movie is all about! It features Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vennela Kishore among others.
5. Merry Christmas | 12 January 2024
It is an action thriller directed by legendary director Sriram Raghavan and stars Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. The movie is about a single mother meeting a stranger on Christmas Eve and deciding to spend it together. While sparks of romance fly everywhere, there is also mystery flowing in the air. And, they know that they have to part ways before it’s too late. A mystery thriller? Sure, everyone is excited!
6. Kalki 2898 AD | 12 January 2024
It is an upcoming sci-fi action adventure film that also interestingly has an ensemble star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Disha Patani in important roles. The movie is set in a mythology-inspired set up in the future when the world is on the verge of destruction and the last avatar of Vishnu has taken birth on earth to help save it. This dystopian fantasy movie is also one of the most anticipated big-budget movies of 2024.
7. Guntur Kaaram | 12 January 2024
An action drama led by Mahesh Babu- about a man who is also the gang leader of the Guntur City and rules over the whole place. Everything in his world works according to him but not love! When a beautiful journalist enters the city intending to expose and wipe out the illegal activities happening in the city. Well, a lot of spicy love, action, and entertainment will be seen in this movie which also features Sreeleela, and Jagapathi Babu among others in the movie.
8. Ayalaan | 12 January 2024
It is the month for all the sci-fi movies! This is another interesting sci-fi movie about an alien that accidentally lands on Earth (not Jaadu!). The alien is cute and innocent and also bonds with some humans but the main threat to him is a set of evil scientists who want to capture him and perform experiments. The movie has an ensemble star cast including Sivakarthikeyan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, and Bhanupriya in important roles.
9. Malaikottai Valiban | 25 January 2024
An action thriller movie about a legendary man his life struggles, achievements, and what the younger generations could learn from his experiences. So, take note, folks! Well, not much has been revealed about the plot but it already sounds like something new, right? This movie stars superstar Mohanlal, and Sonali Kulkarni in lead roles among other prominent actors.
