It is generally accepted that children can bring a sense of satisfaction to one’s life. Children can heal people, they can make them better. However, some people straight up do not deserve children. At least that’s what what one feels when they look at these names given to children by over creative parents. Not only are these some of the funniest names you’d ever see, they are also a testament to the fact that not everyone is meant to have kids.

1. Elon Musk names his son X Æ A-12
While there are many ways to give god-awful names to your kids, imagine giving them one that most find unpronouncable. That’s what Elon Musk, one of the richest people in the world, did to his kid. Musk named his newborn son X Æ A-12, a name he claims his girlfriend, Grimes, also likes. The couple have explained that their son is named after an airplane they both love. What’s even worse, however, is that the state of California does not recognise X Æ A-12 as a name, as all the characters of a name are supposed to be from the 26 alphabets of the English language.

Would you imagine naming your baby after a notorious terrorist who caused the deaths of thousands of people? Well, since some people have named their children after Hitler, I’d guess yes. A Turkish couple in Germany wanted to name their baby after Osama Bin Laden, but the German authorities refused, as it is illegal to use a name that could be deemed offensive or bring ridicule. Now that’s a law I’m willing to stand behind.

It’s one thing to hate your child, it’s another to name them after a poisonous substance that killed Hitler. That’s what a mum in the UK wanted to name her daughter. She claimed that the name had positive connotations because it’s what killed Hitler. The court, however, observed that the mother had a history of drug and alcohol addiction and dating abusive men. The court did not allow her to use the name Cyanide because it could emotionally harm her kids in the future.

We can all agree that Google has made our lives easier. Much, much easier. A decade ago, could you imagine being able to talk to your phone? Or finding directions on your phone? Or singing to your phone so it could find out the name of the song stuck in your head? Me neither. And for that, I am thankful to Google. One such other thankful man named his son Oliver Google Kai after the search engine. Although still quite ridiculous as a name, it is slightly more thoughtful, given that Google is only the middle name of the child, and won’t be brought up as often in his life as the rest of the trainwreck of names in this list.
