Directed by Neeraj Pandey, SPecial ops is a highly recommended thriller Indian web series that had to make it to our list. The show follows Himmat Singh, an officer from the Research and Analysis Wing who decodes several terrorist attacks in India and prevents mishaps from happening. The actors in the show have given praise-worthy performances making it more engaging and thrilling.
The setting of the web series fits well with its title, Mumbai- the city of dreams, the city where numerous lives coexist. City of Dreams is a political thriller drama that deals with the family of a renowned political figure and the internal conflicts that plague the family. With the popularity of The Office America and The Office British, the Indian audience is in for a treat with an Indian rendition of this show that won people’s hearts. Created by Rajesh Devraj, the show is set in Delhi and portrays typical Delhi work culture. It is unlike the comedy TV shows in India with the forced background laughter tracks but is surprisingly funnier than most of them. Another crime drama, Hostages is a rather interesting watch. The show stars Tisca Chopra, Ronit Roy and Aashim Gulati among others. This Indian thriller web series closely follows a doctor and her family who are held hostage. The only way to free them is to assassinate a politician under surgery. The show has had two seasons and both of them won people’s hearts with the twists and turns that they carried.
7. Aarya
Starring the eternal Indian beauty Sushmita Sen in the titular role, Aarya is an Indian crime drama that will keep you on the edge of your seats. The official remake of the Dutch show Penoza, Aarya has it all, from drug syndicates to murders and betrayals that too involving a female protagonist. This 9 part series surely does sound like the perfect recipe for an intense and nerve-wracking watch.
