Man Offered Rs.100 Crore Cheque to Andhra Temple With Only Rs. 17 in His Account

Recently, a news surfaced where a man offered a Rs.100 Crore cheque to an Andhra Temple. This happened in Shri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple also known as Simhachalam Temple in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The temple authorities were shocked to learn about this cheque which actually had no date. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the man had only Rs. 17 in his account while he dropped such a huge amount of ‘cheque’ in the temple’s hundi.

This whole incident took place on 23 August when the temple authorities found an undated cheque of Rs. 100 crore in the ‘hundi’ (offering box) of the temple. This unusual yet generous offering baffled everyone. The temple’s Executive Officer, Trinadh Rao was notified. The cheque was issued by Kotak Mahindra Bank but there was no date on it.

The authorities contacted the Kotak Mahindra branch of that area to verify the authenticity of the cheque and to see if there was any foul play. Upon investigation, it was revealed that this account belonged to a man named Boddepalli Radhakrishna. Also in a bizarre twist, it was also revealed that the man had only Rs. 17 in his bank account.

This whole incident was not only confusing but also left many thinking of the reason why would this mysterious man do something like this. This was definitely not intended to harm anyone or hurt any religious sentiments so the question remains as to why would someone drop a cheque like this. It may be a different way of showing his love for God or just it may be an attention-seeking technique.

The intriguing part of this whole incident is not offering a cheque with this amount because some devotees would go to extravagant lengths to please God, it was not having any money in the bank account. Maybe it was a plea to God to help him and a promise in return for that help.

We would never know why this man offered a Rs.100 crore cheque to an Andhra Temple.
